In full need of a claim for the rights and visibility of the LGBTQ+ collective, works such as a shy light they remind society why we should not forget history, let alone go backwards. Africa Alonso is inspired by a true story, showing the love relationship of two women during the Franco regime.. Of course, you can see this political component, accompanied by prejudice and oppression of homosexuality in those dark years. Even so, he knows how to draw an emotional and elegant story, where a very well done tenderness stands out. Although, its greatest strength lies in the way this fairy tale intersects with a noble nightmare. Therein lies its complexity, exploring the different phases of this couple and the fragility behind them.
Therefore, the denunciation against reconversion therapies is a fact, accompanied by an outcry against the abuses committed in the past. It is also an ode about love and personal struggle. It must be recognized that It is a job that takes, that involves. The viewer feels totally captivated by a realistic narrative, which does not lose its artistic and poetic taste in some parts. There’s a sensibility behind it that runs across the stage and that’s how it feels in the stands.. But the structure remains at least lucid in its last acts, where the feeling of completion of the work is experienced on some occasion and, later, it is resumed. Therefore, these scenes must be nuanced to avoid broadcasting multiple endings at the same time. Despite that, remains a powerful work of splendid quality.

Africa Alonso and Júlia Jové are the protagonists of a shy light, accompanied musically by Marta Pons and Andrea Puig Doria. In the first place, Africa Alonso makes an impressive transformation, starting from a lighter prism that ends in a true emotional frenzy. The feeling is present from the first moment, seeing this vital transformation in his gestures and in his emotion. Later, his vocal ability is exquisite, he has an incredible tonality, tuning absolutely every musical number and offering a stupendous artistic taste.. Thanks to this, he is able to shine from start to finish of the play, although it is important to note that where he shines the most is in the most difficult scenes for his character. It is also worth noting the proximity and that light with which he surrounds his character, which ends up infecting the rest of the play’s audience.
Later, Júlia Jové interprets from a commitment that is totally coherent with the personality of her character. Furthermore, by the way she adorns her Carmen, she takes those dark years back to Spain. by which, it gives that feeling of time gone by, but so naturally it doesn’t feel fake or fake. Likewise, he explores a path full of nuances and edges, falling apart on stage on several occasions and having to face the difficulty of the circumstances his character is going through. A complete metamorphosis is seen, from purity and illusion to hell and pain. Mention your vocal skill, excellent and very careful. To finish, the attitude of Marta Pons and, above all, of Andrea Puig Doria adjust to the needs of the montage. They establish that subtle character, which makes them complete the scene and their presence on stage is more than justified.

the first impression of a shy light It is a minimalist scenography, which places two very clear differentiated spaces. On the one hand, the class that represents the place of union of both women, witnessing what emerges in the aforementioned classrooms and in Isabel’s housethat evolves in its meaning, without losing that allegory of the chosen home. The way they move around the two locations, as well as other spaces, such as the hospital, is efficient and fluid. Thus, the construction at an artistic level takes place, not needing more elements and showing an intelligence in artistic direction. Furthermore, it is completed with the sound space, not only for the music, but also for the different moments in which the musical artists hit the right chord to end the emotion blooming.
The whiteboard feature could have been an aspect that slowed down the action, but it isn’t. The justification and the way to introduce it is organic, allowing you to locate the audience and also to show the passage of time and the state of the relationship. On the other hand, We must applaud both the musicians and the performers, who offer an authentic musical show of great quality. It becomes a pleasure in the way it is performed, which demonstrates an excellent choice in the musical section. Therefore, Being a show of this kind, it is important to underline the level found in this section. But, at some point, the composition remains in a linearity where more innovation could be done. The same happens with the musicians’ costumes, which could be in harmony with each other.

a shy light It is a musical full of feelings that denounces the historical abuses against the LGBTQ+ collective. A tender and captivating love story that conveys the light and hell of a relationship marked by intolerance. Likewise, It has two off-road actresses, who perfectly convey that whole universe full of nuances and humanity. Also noteworthy is the quality of the musical performance, which is great and makes the show go even higher. On the other hand, the setting is solvent and the montage achieves an elegant and suggestive finish. The passion and pain of a love wrapped in repression that floods the stands with pure emotion.
