The Riddick Chronicles

Some time ago I told you about black as pitchalthough many did not know, the first installment of riddick saga. The time has come to face the movie from this trilogy (although there is also an animated short) that everyone knows: The Riddick Chronicles. And I’m talking about her after a brief synopsis.

the dangerous fugitive riddick (played by Vin Diesel), was found by the experienced bounty hunter tombs (Nick Chinlund) on a distant, frozen planet. After getting rid of him, Riddick goes to visit an old friend, who apparently was the one who put a price on his head. There he discovers that what he was doing was getting your attention to help him against the necrotizinga violent faction of planet conquerors seeking to achieve the subuniverse massacring any planet they find. While Riddick isn’t exactly a hero, he’s still his only salvation.

Although the budget is higher than the black as pitch and its visuals are clearly better too, there are some special effects that still creak a bit. It also didn’t get rid of that atmosphere completely nervous which wraps it all up (again, as the 2000s were rough on some things) and is sometimes a bit visually irritating. Fortunately, the soundtrack has improved over its predecessor, something on the other hand not too complicated.

Regarding the cast, the character of riddick and, against all odds, Vin Diesel gives you a little more registration than you already had. The good thing about this installment is that there are supporting actors played by actors and actresses of the stature of Judi Dench, colm feore, Thandie Newton s Carlos Urbano. lead one more time David Twohyapplying a few more layers to a story that started out much simpler.

And is that the fund grew a lot for this movie. Before, the only interest was riddick (which here a little too), but this time more striking concepts are being provided that have just made up a very well composed film in that sense. Although, as I said a little above, this dark, somehow gothic and overloaded aspect often clouds the vision in some way. I would also like to clarify that the tape makes some references to black as pitch and by the way Black Fury (short animation that connects this and the previous one) that have been seen will be understood, but it is not necessary to view them to enjoy this one.

In short, if today’s most palpable technical flaws are ignored, The Riddick Chronicles is movie quite fun with a good atmosphere. Well, we must assume that in some things he has aged regularly, like many productions from the early 2000s, I tell you too.

In normal times, evil was fought with good. But nowadays, I don’t know… it should be fought with another kind of evil.
