Año: 2021 being the Ricardos (2021) is the new film by the director and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The social network, 2011). After his Oscar nomination for The Chicago Seven Trial (2020), Sorkin investigates the story of one of the sitcom most famous on American television: I love Lucy (1951-1957). the movie, starring Nicole Kidman Y Javier Bardem, both nominated for a 2022 Golden Globe for these two performances, will have their exclusive debut in Vídeo Prime below December 21. Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) are threatened by serious personal accusations, political discredit and cultural taboos in backstage dramas being the ricardos, from the Oscar-winning screenwriter and director, Aaron Sorkin. Through a revealing vision of the couple's complex romantic and professional relationship, the film takes the viewer to the writers' room and the sound studio, while showing what happens with Ball and Arnaz outdoors in a week. Criticized during production of her groundbreaking sitcom, "I Love Lucy." First of all, it is important to highlight the excellent work of script and production of Sorkin. A script that tells the story of two television icons and that takes us to other great works by the same author, such as The social network (2011), script by which Sorkin won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. The film features bold, fast-paced dialogue, witty retorts and retorts, and clever comedic touches that keep the script flowing. The director tells us about the most complicated and decisive week, both professionally and personally, for Lucille Ball's wedding (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) while recording one of the series most famous of all time, also winner of five Emmy Awards. Furthermore, we find the story of a very ambitious couple who have to face social prejudices and we see how the characters evolve and present different versions of themselves. Sorkin it teaches us how people are capable of acting in completely opposite ways at times of maximum pressure. This evolution and tension in the characters are mixed, in an original way, with documentary interviews with people who accompanied Ball and Arnaz in this professional stage. These interviews allow viewers to learn more about this complicated marriage, on and off the television set, and how they functioned as a team. Likewise, it is necessary to highlight the interpretation of Nicole Kidman, who is characterized by the role with facial prostheses and manages to modify his voice and body language to resemble the iconic Lucy Ball. The viewer will be able to see a completely new version of the actress, a kidman much more expressive, that she is fully involved in the role and manages to prevail over the rest of the cast in her portrayal of one of the most famous and influential women on American television. as to bardem, the Spanish actor has faced numerous negative reviews for his Cuban accent in the film for the portrayal of the character of Arnaz, as has happened with other performances this year, such as Lady Gaga for her role as Patrizia Gucci in The Gucci House (2021). However, bardem manages to shine in his role as a Cuban immigrant, family man, businessman, actor and television star. What else, Sorkin use the character of bardem include elements of social criticism and the American view of the Latin man of the time. In conclusion, being the Ricardos is a film with a very intelligent script and an excellent production design that manages to entertain and transport the viewer back to the 1950s. In short, a film that will surprise the general public when it knows the dirty laundry of the entertainment industry and has help of the two great performances of its main actors. After three Golden Globe nominations, it can be said that the film is already running for an Oscar. join our TELEGRAM CHANNEL
